Shooting Stars

Last night I got to spend some time with Jack in our backyard.  He's a very interesting guy. He's funny, but in a little bit of a warped way. We were talking about random stuff, and making parodies of songs that were just kind of random. The stars were out, so we looked at them and talked. I saw my first and second and maybe third shooting stars. So then we were talking about that. And I said "What if a shooting star fell on you?" Jack's reply? "Take away their gun."
He's an awesome guy.

Missions

So, I have a bunch of brothers. One of them, who I'll call MiddleMan, is currently on an LDS mission, and he's the first in the family to go. Well, the other day, one of my other brothers (here named "the Scot" for his love of bagpipes), who is about four years older than MM, got a mission call. He leaves in a couple months, and he's kept it a secret from most people (that he was actually going to go on a mission), including MM. See, he plans to write a letter from the MTC (missionary training center, not Mormon tabernacle choir)saying "to Elder __ from Elder __", just saying "hi, I'm at the MTC". So no one is allowed to tell MM. It'll be interesting to find out MM's reaction, though my mom wants to tell. ~Jayde

So, I asked my little brother(the monkey-ninja) to make me a sandwich. He said, "Sorry, I'm not capable of that. I'm a muggle." Then my older brother, who I'll call Jack, said "Well actually, muggle borns are when a muggle and a muggle make a witch. So it actually is possible for muggles to make witches." M-N: "NOoo, I mean transfiguration! I can't turn her into a sandwich." My brothers are the best. ~Jayde

Poems about poems

This is probably my last post for today; some poems I wrote about writing poems.
It's fun to write limericks, I claim; I don't know if you feel the same; but when writing's concerned, everywhere else I get burned; this poem's my pathway to fame.
At writing novels I'm bad; My attempts at a plotline are sad But when limericks count, The talent I mount, I hope that it's more than a fad

Some fun poetry (Harry Potter)

So, I like to write poetry.  I also like the Harry Potter books.  Want to know what happens when those two loves combine?
Here's what you get:

There once was a wizard named Quirrel
Who followed directions from squirrels
'til one day he found
In the forest around
That the dark lord was having a whirl.

Luna's been seeing things, here are the facts:
There's Wrackspurts and Crumple horned snorckaks,
Blibering humdingers, and nargles to the max.
Gulping plimpies.... She needs to relax.
My favorite of the two is the one about Quirrel.  Maybe because it's a limerick, or maybe because it flows better than the one about Luna.

So, I thought I'd do a blog.

So, I thought I'd stop being just a lurker in the blogosphere.
My name isn't really Jayde; it's more of a screen name I took after attempting to write a story with a main character named "Jayde".  It didn't really work out.  I'm good at poetry, though.  I'll probably post some later.
I like reading, sewing, biking, and occasionally writing, though mostly poetry.  I like to rhyme.
I'm also LDS and live in Utah.
Yeah, that's about it for me, for now, anyways.
